Use cascaded projects if your workflow includes the correction of source texts.

In most process workflows, the developers deliver source files with texts that have not been reviewed yet by native speakers.

In this situation, it is adviced to create two projects in Passolo:

Master project

  • File > New > Project
  • Create the project as explained in Create project (.lpu) in Passolo
    • The master project contains the source strings as delivered by the developers as input.
    • As target language you define the language that you would like to have as a source langauge when translators open the string list.
  • The reviewer can now correct the English strings to the master language.

Targets project

  • File > New > Cascaded project
  • Select the master Passolo project (.lpu) as master project.
  • Select the target language of the master Passolo project as source language.

  • Add translations.
  • The translator can now translate with the master as input. An advantage is that a TM will now be updated with the reviewed master strings and their translations.
